Is Outdoor Advertising Right For Your Company?
Outdoor advertising might be ideal for your company if you can identify with any two of the following statements: - Your product or service is geared towards a large segment of the public. - You want to make an immediate, widespread impression. - You want to point out your location (directional boards) - Your competitors do not use outdoor - Your message can be phrased in 10 words or less - Your message can be presented in a visual, easy to understand way - Your goal is to increase name or product recognition Outdoor advertising is more vertsatile than most companies realize. Used creatively, outdoor can be a very effective medium. If you are interested in getting your message to the public over a 12 month period, you need to consider bulletins. Bulletins are the large metal boards primarily seen on highways. If, however, you want to make more of an impact on a local basis you need what used to be called paper billbards that are sold on monthly. You can literally saturate areas of a region with your message. Outdoor was not left standing in the dark when advertising met the computer. The newest type of board seen around many towns now are digital displays. It is like seeing a giant slide show outdoors. They are handsome at night and striking no matter the time of day as they change from ad to ad. The digital displays can hardly be missed. The down side of them is that you share time with numerous other customers and that your message has to be conveyed LITERALLY in a flash because once your 10 seconds is up, your message is gone. You could always beat the system by purchasing a bigger alotment of spots with different messages. Outdoor is a unique way to target difficult to reach executives in many business-to-business marketing plans. Gain people's attention through a teaser board that precedes the actual campaign by a week or so. Initially the message would be unclear to the public but one that would gain curiosity. The message would begin to reveal itself over a planned timeperiod. Outdoor is an effective advertising medium even in todays busy world. |
